We are extremely pleased to announce the Beta 3 release of Credo Bible Study v1.0. This was a very challenging endeavor for us to bring the software this far from its genesis. Our hope is that you will find this software useful and edifying in your pursuit of greater enlightenment. For those customers who have used Beta 1 and Beta 2, there are notable enhancements in the appearance and usability of the product.

A Brief List of Changes

  • We have added an English, Latin as well as Greek dictionary. (Greek will have incomplete parsing until some future date, probably RTM)
  • The scripture search was enhanced to highlight the key words.
  • The scripture search was enhanced to allow for filters on Old Testament, New Testament, Greek, Latin, and English.
  • The scripture search speed was considerably enhanced.
  • The size of the program was reduced from 150MB down to 50MB.
  • The Layout of the windows can now be saved.
  • An options windows was added.
  • Several bugs were fixed.
  • More of the missing functionality has been filled in on the menu bar.
  • Bookmarks, Cross References and Commentary now has tooltip pop up summaries in the scripture.
  • "Red Lettering" is now whatever color you want for the different trinitarian persons as well as angels, demons etc. (Note- the textual annotations for this have not been completed as of yet. We have completed the Torah)
  • A History window was added which records what verses you have traversed. (Similar to browser history.)
  • Added documentation on the different ecclesiastical councils in the Library section.
  • Added the Baltimore Catechism and the official Roman Catholic Catechism.
  • Added documentation on the different liturgies in antiquity to today.

Credo Bible Study (Beta 3)

We sincerely hope you enjoy this free program. Our intention is to always have it available for FREE. Although donations are welcome though not expected. We are planning that every couple of months that new updates will be published which will fix bugs, usability issues and add content. We think the final RTM build of version 1.0 will be sometime next year... probably Q3 or Q4 2010. In the meantime, there will be a Release Candidate build coming between now and then. We expect RC 1 to focus on bugs, functionality, useability, and adding content. Some of the content we hope to include is dependent on acquiring permission from authors. This is a slow process which we have found to be the most difficult aspect of this development. In all I hope you enjoy Credo Bible Study. Feel free to comment, give opinions, suggestions for improvements/changes.

For those who are curious; The reason we took on this project was because 99.9 % of the bible software out there is not properly aware of the Catholic tradition or the other sacramental churches such as the Orthodox. Therefore most users are forced into downloading programs from Christian confessions which don't represent the Catholic Faith of the sacramental churches. Of course, even this software cannot make the claim of being a perfect representation, but nevertheless, that is its aim.

Credo Bible Study is now uploaded and ready for your evaluation at this location.
